Coping with Dog Bite Outbreak

Aggressive Dog
There have been a number of incidents reported of dogs attacking people leading to injuries and even worst, death. Sometimes, they would blame it to the breed of the dog. A vicious and dangerous dog should always have the owner’s attention keeping it from hurting people. The law in Florida would always consider the owner to be held liable and responsible of whatever incident the dog has made causing accidents leading to injuries and fatalities.

Years ago, it has been reported that an 81 year old woman died from a dog attack. She was attacked by 6 mixed breed pit bulls in her front yard. The owners of the dogs, a 67 year old retiree, plead not guilty and responsible because he didn’t know how the dogs got loose from his single trailer. His neighbors have been complaining prior to the accident, that they are threatened by the dogs. During these events it is best to contact a dog bite lawyer in order to have an idea on what should be done to claim for any damages should it be possible. And also, taking it to legal actions, it would prevent the dog to make future attacks or harm people or neighbors. According to the law in Florida, the owner should take all the responsibility and cover all the damages from the accident. Experienced lawyers know well to defend their clients who are victims; perhaps, they can prove how vicious and dangerous the dogs are prior to the accident. Owners need to place signs visible for the public to inform how dangerous the dog is. Although the owner tried to defend himself that his dogs attack trespassers and that the accident happened within his property, the court still believes that should the owner need not to be negligence, possible attacks should’ve been prevented.

It is necessary for an adult to need a lawyer when filing for a claim from a dog bite. They are able to answer all the questions that puzzle the mind of the victim. In addition, there are only less than 1% of the dog bite cases that are rewarded. Out of at least 4.7 million dog bite victims in the country, insurance companies only paid 15,000-16,000 victims. Victims file for a claim not because they wanted to get compensated; instead, they wanted the owner to cover on the damages that was caused from the dog bite. He has to prove to the court that the injuries were caused from the accident and not on anything else. In addition, whenever suffering from a dog bite or attack, it is still an essential to contact an expert lawyer to be well represented in taking legal actions.

Some have the perception that some breeds are considered dangerous and vicious. Further studies have established that pit bulls and Rottweiler breeds are dangerous considering the inflictions on the attack. At any rate, dog owners regardless of the breed of dog should be responsible for the actions taken by their pets. Dogs will always be dogs. Owners need to control them from the dog bite outbreak.
